...And even if you think everyone would recognize you from a distance in the dark, say hello and let us know how you're doing these days. smile

Hello Ouray,

I wish I could live in such a beautiful place.  I am sure the people are all so lovely and fun to be with.  My family of eight cannot wait until we move there.  Y'all take care of those beautiful mountains.  Look forward to another jeep tour and oh yes another delightful meal at the Historic Western Hotel.grin

Hello, my name is Dana, and I live in Texas. My husband and I vacation in Ouray the last week of July each year. For the past several years, we have been camping at KOA during our stay, and we have several friends from the Denver area who drive in to go four-wheeling with us. I always look forward to getting to town a day or two early to have a little time to selfishly enjoy Ouray on my own for a little while. I enjoy walking by the wonderful Victorian homes, visiting my favorite shops, buying a couple of HUGE steaks at Duckett's, and having a chance to meet with a good friend who is lucky enough to have a summer home in Ouray. I love the Jeep trails, and Animas Forks is one of my "must" stops! It doesn't matter how many times I've been there, I just can't wait to see it again.

Hi Everyone!  My name is Myra.  My physical body lives in southernmost Illinois where I am a college teacher and social worker, but my heart and soul live in Ouray!  I am a proud member of the Ouray County Historical Society and the Mt. Sneffels Education Association.  I am a proud supporter of Neighbor to Neighbor Senior Meals, Ouray Mountain Rescue, Ouray Trails Group and Second Chance Humane Society.  What I am saying is I have found that although I can't physically live in Ouray, the people of the area have allowed me to share in their work and their dreams of making Ouray an even better place IF that is possible ; - )  I've read extensively on the area and could recommend any number of books on particular areas of interest if you'd like to send me a private message.  Be sure and pick up a new one just coming out.  It is part of a series called "Images of America" and is more than likely simply called Ouray.  It can be found at the museum and I'm sure other locations throughout town.  To everyone heading up, out, or over to Ouray this summer as I am, happy journey and time spent in Ouray.  To those of you who can't, my deepest and sincerest sympathies.  Hooray for Ouray!

Hi Jim.  Want to live here?  Do what many of us did to get here.  If you have the sort of job that allows you to telecommute, then bring your job with you!  Has worked for me for the last 11 years.
